In case anybody might have one of these sitting in a cabinet with broken or missing extractor...in case such a person might wish to fire their expensive doo-dad rifle...
There is hope.
SSK Industries will do a conversion from the original weak SAKO type extractor, to a much more robust and reliable AR 15 unit.

I took mine out to the range today to see how it would work under firing conditions and was very pleased with the results.
I fired RWS, Wolf MC 70 and Russian Factory 3 surplus---all rounds cycled through the rifle crisply and extraction was much more positive than it ever had been with the original SAKO type system.
SSK isn't cheap, but the work is first rate and I wanted the damn rifle working well so I could try the accuracy without fretting over parts flying off the rifle. It was worth every cent.
The RWS ammunition isn't accurate in anything, the Wolf MC 70 isn't either, but the Russian Factory 3 got this target. POA was low on the neck---the rifle seems to be sighted for 300 meters and the elevation knob on the Zeiss optic is locked.
1.5"x5 Hun's Head---
Too much snow on the ground to do more, but tomorrow is another day.
Those that say this is a "2MOA rifle or worse if you're using the crap surplus ammo" are wrong.
