A St. Paul police officer cleared of using excessive force against a 12-year-old student at Ramsey Junior High last year is being sued by the boy and his legal guardian, the state Department of Human Services.

Police said Officer Tou Cha was trying to stop a fight involving the boy's sister on Dec. 9, 2002, when Prince Carl Butler Jr. jumped on the officer's back.

Investigators say Cha flipped the boy over his back and the boy hit his head on the floor. Cha stuck his foot out to keep the boy from striking his head on the floor, police said.

Attorney Richard Hechter, representing the boy, said Friday that his client disputes that account and that the boy never jumped on the officer as he was making an arrest.

The city is preparing a response to the suit, which seeks more than $100,000.

The "good" news about this BS lawsuit is that we get to pay for it... I hope that when it's over they pursue costs against the 'victims' guardian. :barf:

So THAT's where Officer Farva works now...
Naw... you guys mean Garcia from Reno 911. :p
Seriously, does anyone really believe a kid named "Prince" is well adjusted and well behaved? There must be some witnesses to this (hopefully not named "King" or "Emperor").

I know of one good police officer who ended up with a broken knee after wrestling with one vey large teenager in a high school.

He was afraid of the repercussions if he used his baton. :(

It took three officers to restrain that kid.

I reckon I would do that exactly what the officer did.

Little turd got what he asked for. Actually he was very lucky he didn't get alot more.

Not only that the little turd should spend the rest of his childhood in Military School to teach him respect for authority.

If he did infact jump on the officer he, his "legal guardian" and the Staes DHR should divy up and pay the officer the 100 grand they want.

The cop should be given a medal for having the presence of mind not to simple slam the little turd head first onto the floor!:banghead: :cuss: :fire:
