I just purchased my first AR15 which is a Stag. I'm wanting to stock-up on magazines. Would the Magpul Pmag magazine shot without any problems? Thanks

Magpul PMAGS are the best things since Sliced Bread for the AR-15.

They had some issues with the earliest PMAGS, but that issue has been long fixed.

Don't waste your time with HK mags...crap, IMHO.

My gun dealer still thinks that it would be prudent to buy a few aluminum mags, just to be prudent, in case PMAGS really do flop. But that is highly unlikely.

Testing on the PMAGS have included sustained full auto fire in M249 SAWs. You should go to M4Carbine.net and read about the PMAG there. They have also been through far worse. About the only problem I have read about is in exxxtreemmmee cold, they may have problems.

I think another mag to look at would be the Lancer mags...

Stay away from Triple K, Promag, National Magazine, and such.

There are several good brands of aluminum mags, too. Look over at M4Carbine.net. I haven't bought much in the way of aluminum mags, mainly PMAGS, since they do work well.

Thanks for all the info. Looks like I'll be buying some of the Pmags.

I've got a few stags......and a PILE of pmags. They work. Didn't get rid of my aluminum GI ones either, though.

Another benefit to pmags- they seem to have driven down the prices on aluminum mags a bit.

The PMAGs have great features for the $. You get a tough, durable mag, with good springs, and a good, anti tilt follower. Options include a small clear window to see the round count, different colors, and a marine floorplate to improve drainage. A $10-12 aluminum mag (that's the price before you add the anti-tilt follower) suddenly doesn't look so good next to the $14-$15 (no window) PMAG.

At the last gunshow I attended down here at the end of June Pmags (without the window) were selling for ten bucks total, tax included, from a couple of vendors.
Can't beat that. Heck, the cheapest used GI mags I saw were selling for that much...
