Our "friends" on the Left scheming to bring back the Clinton gun ban of the 1990s. They have learned a few things about guns since then and were mad that the manufacturers got around the law by making a few cosmetic alterations to their law that was strictly against the cosmetics of the guns in the first place.

Knowing that libs will never stop trying to disarm the US citizen, I have decided to go on a crash buying and building spree to get my "ugly" guns grandfatherd in before HR 1022 becomes law under President Hillarious Rodman. I wonder why she won't use her "married" name..?

I remember seeing a stainless steel receiver for the 10/22 in the Brownell's from a year or so ago (maybe two). Does anyone remember that? It was made by MOA Corporation or something like that. I want one to build the last 10/22 I will ever buy. They will be banned under HR 1022, as will the Winchester Model 12 shotgun your dad bought in 1962 and planned to give to you one day...

Read the bill. It will shock you...

Any excuse to build another rifle sounds good to me but don't consider HR1022 a done deal...there is still a good political fight to be fought.

Clinton Gun Ban back on the stove...

Just search for HR 1022 by McCarthy. You won't believe the stuff they have planned. They want to outlaw any gun with a thumbhole stock (because the AR-15 was made with one after the Ban to make it legal). They want to make it law that the Attorney General of the US can outlaw any gun by fiat. Think President Hillarious and Schumer as AG...

Search out the bill. Read it. Then get active...

I don't know how much fight those conservative Democrats who got elected last November will have when it comes to the strongarm tactics of the big libs in the House. With Democrats, it's "vote like we tell you or pack your bags in two years."

About the receiver: I found the one by MOA Corporation, but I also found a better one with a machined Picatinny rail already attached to its top. It's made by Tactical Innovations, Inc. of Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Price is just $234 versus the $300-plus wanted by MOA. Now, MOA's is steel, is an exact clone of the original and is able to attach a threaded barrel. Tac's fits all 10/22 parts along with all aftermarket parts, and is made of either 6061 or 7075-- your choice (and money). I like the Tactical Inno offering the more I look at it...

Linky no worky...

You must have to get to that page by going through their website, because the URL I wound up with is the same one from above.

Its listed under the 10-22 accesories, and then in "10-22 Action/Trigger Components". $389. Ouch. Thats 300 more than I paid for my boring, used, bone stock 10-22 out the door...

has anyone actually worn out an aluminum 10/22?

My boss has two of them. For whatever reason they both have trouble feeding and firing. They are very accurate and come with a hammered barrel with sort of a spiral look to it. Nice guns, well made, but not reliable.

to asnwer a question...

many 10-22's end up cracking near/on the bolt buffer holes in the reciever if the original metal pin is left in and hyper velocity ammo is used. - Eric

That receiver with the integrated picatinny rail from Tactical Solutions looks nice. Would be a quick and easy way to add a scope or red dot.

For the price of the steel receiver, you could buy a whole Ruger 10/22, a buttload of ammo, a scope, and enough quarter-inch diameter delrin rod to keep you in recoil buffers for several lifetimes.
