Star/Double Star AR

A buddy called me and asked me about Star/Double Star AR and M4s. He asked me what I thought of them and their quality. I couldn't answer him as I don't know anything about them, I prefer DPMS or Bushies.

Is this something I should steer him clear of or are they decent rifles?

Mine's great.

I mail-ordered an upper from J&T (their parts & assemblies division) to put on a DoubleStar STAR-15 lower I bought at a gun show. I'll be buying from them again. Great quality, great function.

I bought mine from a shop around here called SlingPoint firearms that sells a ton of double star ar/m4's.

The quality of it is really impressive. I didn't even clean mine before I shot it. I have put about 500 rounds of wolf through it without any problems whatsoever.

If I'm ever in the market for another AR, doublestar will be were I'll look first

I have a couple of J&T Distributing/Doublestar rifles and have been very happy with them...

And they're very good people to deal with too...

I have an older M4rgery that I bought used and I have been very satisfied with it. No problems with it at all thus far.

I have a Doublestar M4gery. No problems and goes bang everytime.

BTW the inside of my upper is nice and shiny throughout. Noticeably better internal finish than the other AR upper I have. I've looked at details beyond just "does it shoot", also, and results are quite positive.
