Is it possible to ajust the pull on these rifles? If so, only by a qualified gunsmith I suppose. Mine is not as easy as I would prefer, so any input or first hand experience with same problem will be more than welcome ! Not that it matters, but it's a .223 cal. Thanks one and all.

You can adjust pull to a limited extent. And if its an older 200 you can adjust overtravel too for a much improved feel.

Google ( savage three screw trigger adjustment ) and adjust the screws your trigger actually has

The Stevens that I have which are two models, one in .308 and one in .243 do not have the three screw adjustments that the older savage 110's had. I replaced those triggers with timney triggers. I would not advise altering the stevens trigger.

The Stevens was identical to the old savage three screw setup except you aren't given the option to adjust sear engaugment (the dangerous one)

Up till around 2009 you could set overtravel and pull just like you would the older savage trigger. Around 2010 savage eliminated the overtravel set screw (cost cutting)

I've replacement a few Stevens 200 triggers with actual three screw savage units. This swap is 100% drop in and only serves to give you a sear engaugment adjustment screw

That's interesting since I bought both rifles new prior to 2010.
