I was given a stevens model 311A 20g double barrel by my grandfather. Sometime years ago the barrels were sawed off just a couple inches forward or the forearm. I'm trying to find a replacement barrels set. No luck so far not even numrich. They also cut a inch or two off the stock which has a crack and small piece missing up at the receiver. Any help finding replacement barrel would be so appreciated. Thanks

First, measure the barrels...muzzle to breech face. If under 18" you have an NFA firearm. Bad. Try Gunbroker, ebay, or even a general search engine. Even if you find a set they might need some fitting. Good luck.

Yeah I know it's bad lol. That's why I'm looking for a replacement. It didn't bother my grandad he's the one that cut it lol. Anyway I've looked at all that I just can't seem to find a set. I'm still looking tho hopefully something pops up. Thanks papaG

FWIW, a year ago I bought a 90% 311 20 ga for 150 plus ftip and tax at a lgs. Got a buy. Buddy talked me out of it yesterday. Walnut and blue steel.

Elsewhere I have read that doubles don’t swap barrels, which is why you don’t find spare barrels.

They take some work by a shotgun smith to do.

Might check these guys every so often.
They have a wide range of shot gun parts kits, covering everything from over under to advanced semi-automatic and even side by side or single shot. Check back regularly, because our stock is always changing.
They chop the receiver of firearms then sell them as parts kits

I doubt very much that a "spare" set of barrels would be available. If a set showed up, the chances of them fitting without some considerable work would be slim.

Well that is discouraging. I didn't know they had to be fitted like that. Oh well I'll figure sumn out. Thanks men I appreciate the responses.

You could have it made into a double barrel .22 Hornet, possibly 30/30 win, or .303 British, have a gunsmith turn some barrels to fit into your barrel stubs, extractor work and barrel regulation.
Or fit two 410 barrels inside, bored both out so the smaller gauge barrels fit.

Sleeved barrels - An economical method of bringing new life to a damaged pair of barrels, regardless of their original method of jointing. The ribs are removed. The old barrels are cut off 3" - 4" from the breech end and discarded. The bores of the remaining breech-end are reamed out oversize. New tubes are fitted down into the original breech section and filed down to fit flush. The original ribs are then replaced. Sleeving is considerably less expensive than building a completely new set of barrels. As much of the time required to build a set of new barrels is concentrated in the fitting of the breech end to the receiver; this work is salvaged through sleeving. Sleeving can be recognized by a pair of circumferential lines around the barrels a few inches from the breech, and by a ring around the chamber openings at the breech. The more invisible, the finer the job. A sleeved gun should always be identified as such amongst the proof marks, and if done in England must be properly reproofed.

Wow Rex in OTZ. That's a new one on me. I don't think I've ever seen that. I have seen the inserts to change the caliber. I will have to check into that. Thanks alot Rex.
