I have an antique stevens model #530a 410. It is a side by side double barrel gun with a bridge between the barrels that was given to me by my grandfather. I have been told that the bridge some how adds value. I was wanting to know if that is true. I have no intentions of selling this gun I just want a little bit of history on it.

Pictures would help. sometimes I just do some searches on gun broker of sold guns to get a feel. Don't bother with asking prices, as they can get pretty wild.

The 530 replace the 330 in the Stevens lineup in the 1930's and was made up through the mid 1950's. Various letters were used to denote different models such as the 530M which had the Tentite stock and forend. I don't believe these were ever offered with a vent rib from the factory however the 530A could be ordered with a single selective trigger which does add a premium today. If yours has a vent rib I would suspect it was added later.

I have a Stevens 410 Side by Side still in the original box. I assembled it once but never fired it. It has a factory vent rib and even came with a sling.
