The grip on my Steyr M9 is hollow, when the mag is inserted, behind the mag, there is prolly about half an inch opening that runs up to about the base of the slide. I am assuming it is this way on all M9 's and prolly the 40's as well. In this hole, though, are two "tracks" of some sort. One on each side, that looks like they are made for a piece to slide up in there. Does anyone know what this is for? Am I just missing the bottom piece to my gun, or was there another intended purpose for this space?

Thanks

If I am not mistaken, I believe I read somewhere that the glock plugs, and Glock stocks will also work. However, I havent been able to test this theory with my own Steyr.

Cort, it doesnt work the other way around?

Well sure it does! :D

My point was that in fairness to the Steyr, the "Glock stock" was designed for the Steyr and also fits the Glock -- not the other way around. There are some photos on the "Glock Tactical Stock" (something like that) website in which you can actually see the trapezoidal Steyr logo on the stock.
