I was recently looking for some ammo (8X56r) for my Steyr M95 and was told that I could not shoot a single cartridge through the gun. I was told that you have to use the clips or strippers clips or whatever you might call them. I am pretty sure there is a difference between a clip and a stripper clip but that is a question for another time. Can anyone shed some light on me. thank you in advance.

The clip for the Steyr is very similar in operation to the Garand en-bloc clip. I haven't fired mine in years, but I thought I remembered single loading the chamber without it, but according to the link below it's not possible.
