STI Trojan magazines?

I've ordered an STI Trojan, and I just heard that there is something funky about their mag catch. Does the Trojan only accept STI mags, or can it take any 1911 mag? Can someone please explain this to me?

the STI mag catch supposedly holds the mags higher...sometimes to the point that it causes the mag to sit to high contacting the ejector or causing other issues..l

I have seen some trojans with that problem and other that did not..

no big deal..switch out the mag release to one of the many out there offered by EGW, Wilson, Ed Brown, Nowlin and on and on..

Is that something that I could easily change out myself, or does that require a smith?
