Yep, I noticed the new pistol also. I also thought it may be Turkish or a variation of one of the newer Russsian designs, Like the Viking MP446, but I think it's actually a new Slovakian service pistol, the K100........

I'd be willing to take a serious look at one and test it on a rental range. The Slovakians are making some bold claims about it. Interesting, I find it and the Jordanian JAWS promising.

Not something I'd buy, but good for STI. Not sure how it "continues the evolution of the 1911" though! :)

Not to hijack the thread, but I seem to recall reading on a forum that someone had recently started importing the K100. Actually I have been looking ofr a K100 for a couple of years since I first saw them whilst working in East Europe.

It is good to see the K100 resurface--so that is where it went after R-Guns. This is a really neat pistol in many ways, and having exchanged a few emails with the makers I can tell you they are an impressive company. I strongly suggest we withold judgement until it gets into circulation. It may prove to be an interesting product, and STI is unlikely to make mistakes bringing it to market.

The idea may be good but it's still ugly. I think I'll pass on this one.

$655 MSRP
Ergos look pretty good.
STI is not stupid.
I hope this one does not have polygonal rifling

Folks forget the XD was an "ugly import from Croatia" and now look where it is?
Oh, and look all the other offerings we have that do not have poly riflling and folks can shoot reloads, including lead, without having to buy a barrel.

S&W M&P is doing well...still some refuse to buy another S&W due to politics.
Berettas work just fine...
Kel-Tec P-11 shoots lead bullets just great.

Ammo has gone up, 9mm is still more affordable and if need one can reload, even with lead.
Glock may just ...these do not fit my hand and Glocks hate me.

STI may have a winner with this new tool for the tool box.

I've got an earlier version of the K100, a fantastic pistol that can be considered just another poly gun. I do think its ugly, in a "frankenpistol" kind of way but it will spoil you on most other guns once you shoot it. $650 is a bit much for an unknown design though, STI badged or not.
