Really like this First AR: the brand-new S&W Sport II. But even though I'm only 5'11", the fully-extended factory stock needs another 1" to be added.
It feels a bit cramped and therefore I can't get in the mood to go shoot it much any more. The two (all-original) Russian Saiga rifles have longer, fixed plastic stocks, but feel much more natural.
Despite the gritty triggers and leaf sights, they are more fun to shoulder. Most previous shooting with Enfield #4s and lots of SKS (short Chinese) with a soft, loose, rubbery recoil pad.
All of the pads I've seen via Google are just 1/2" recoil pads, or don't appear to fit the S&W AR Sport II.
Nobody seems to manufacture a basic, lower-cost 1" extension for these.
