Hello all.

I know this is a real long shot, but does anyone know where I can obtain a replacement stock for a pre-WWII Mauser KKW .22LR single shot training rifle?

A friend has one. The metal is great, and the action works well. Unfortunately, someone did the worlds worst checkering job on the original stock, taking the rifle from valued collectable to interesting curiosity.

I suspect that if a stock could be obtained, the increase in value would more that offset the price. The trick would be finding one. I'll keep looking, but if anyone has seen one, please let me know.

Thanks for your help.

Hate to sound negative, but I looked for 30 years for a stock for a Geco trainer and was never able to find any German trainer stock. I finally threw in that rifle with another one on a trade.

Thanks Jim,

That's about what I expected.

Interestingly enough, I did find an outfit that makes a sporter stock for the rifle. I wouldn't have thought that there would be nearly enough interest to make it worthwhile.

Thaks for you help,

mauser kkw stock

I have been coresponding with Northwood Gunstocks via e-mail and they have a euro sporter stock available for your kkw. However; they offered a discount if I let them copy my stock. Since I didn't have a military stock i declined but since you do it might be an avenue for you and hence a place for the rest of us to obtain a military stock for our kkw's
