I have a Rem 1100 with the black synthetic stock and forearm. The length of pull is about a half inch shorter than my trap classic 1100 which fits me perfectly. I bought a generic black phenolic spacer to add to the synthetic stock only to find out the synthetic stock was hollow and difficult to make the spacer work. The factory rubber butt pad on the synthetic stock goes down into the stock making a spacer nearly impossible to fit properly

My question... Will it be easier for me to buy a new wooden stock and then put a spacer on it to acheive the right length of pull OR is there spacers available made for the hollow synthetic stock?

How thick is the factory buttpad?

Limbsaver (maybe Pachmayr also) makes thick pads that fit the stock AFAIK. If they're 1/2" thicker than factory, you're done, and it'll look/work better, too.

That said, you might not want quite as much length for a gun that's not used for trap. Remember, a thick jacket, vest or layered clothes in the field need a little shorter LOP, and shooting low gun at a high-flying target usually likes a tad less (maybe 1/4") than trap, where you shoot high gun at a target straight out in front of you.

Oh yeah. I should have mentioned that...

Remington has Limbsaver make the R3. That will definitely fit.
