Stocky's Stocks??

Does anyone have any experience or opinions on Stocky's stocks? I'm primarily interested in the stocks that they are offering for the T/C Encore. It looks like they are offering a sale on their T/C Encore stocks and it's a pretty good price. I'm thinking about getting a forend and buttstock. Any experiences with them will be helpful!

We use theme from time to time when we are faced with a 'situation' and cant find or secure a stock from the manufacturer.

They have been excellent with us.

Well I'm really more of a laminated stock guy and there's not that many options for the T/C Encore. Seems like it should be pretty much an out-of-the-box-ready-to-go type of deal. There's no inletting or anything so there's not much to screw up. I just wanted to make sure they weren't know for sloppy work or anything.

Stockys doesn't 'make', or manufacture any stocks.

All the stocks they sell are manufactured by stock making companies. Bell and Carleson, HS Precision, S&K and others.

I placed an order with them 3 months ago tomorrow. They told me to expect the stock in 4-6 weeks. It has now been 12 weeks. I understand thay they are at the mercy of Bell and Carlson to make the stock, but it is a bit frustrating. When I called to check on the status of my order they were friendly and helpful.

Mabey B&C is getting behind on some orders, I had my B&C-A2 style stock within my shipping date for UPS, which I think was one week. Hope you get yours, their real nice.

In all fairness, and I probably should have made this clear in my 1st post, I ordered 2 stocks that are probably not very commonly ordered. 1 is for a Winchester Featherweight and the 2nd was for a Remingon ADL Mountain rifle. I'm sure they were not in stock and were made after the order was placed. I'm told they should be in any day now.

I had a very bad experience with them; they got me the stock, but damn if it didn't take all but an act of congress to get it to me. I wrote a review here:

Honestly, save yourself the trouble and order direct from the manufacturer.

Avoid stocky stocks

This post may be too late for the thread but better late than never.
I purchased a stock from stocky stocks in march of 2011.
they shipped it fast, BUT it was not the stock I ordered or the color and it was not even for the rifle I ordered it for.
I called them and waited on hold for 40 min They also have no 800 #
so this was my dime.
I called back and was told the tech person had left for the day 30 min before.
I called 3 times over the next 2 days still have not reached anyone.
I have e-mailed 3 times, with no reply.
The bottom line is I don't think they care at all about service.
I hope this keeps someone else from being cheated.
