My local gun shop has a Stoeger Comp Combo (12ga and 20ga barrels) that they will sell me for $680. This seems to be a fairly solid deal, considering MSRP for this set is $820.

My local shop tells me the sell a ton of them and have had none come back for warranty issues. He tells me the Mossberg O/U (Silver Reserve), on the other hand, is a piece of junk. He says most of them have needed work and he has a hard time getting them serviced. He says that they have discontinued the Mossberg line in their store due to the bad dealings.

What are your experiences with this gun? I used to enjoy shooting casual trap, and I am looking for an affordable option to get back into it--these seem like great guns for the price.

Unless you want to fix it yourself steer clear of this POS and get a used Browning, Berretta or auto. I have one that had so many FTF that I sent it back to Bennelli. I packed the gun in its own box inside another box with lots of padding. They supposedly fixed the problem, but made sure they took pictures of the ding in the stock upon receiving the gun.:fire: I got the gun back from Bennelli and it was not even close to being fixed and a nice new ding in the stock. First trip to the range 2nd shell FTF, I was p***ed. :fire: Took the gun home, took the internals out and polished everything. This is an extremely rough gun with internals hardly finished at all. I then trimmed 1 loop off the firing pin return springs. After about an hour of polishing I took it to the range and fired 75 straight with no FTF on either barrel. It is definately a lower tier gun and I would recommend getting a used B brand for just a little more money. I picked up a Citori ~$1k. It was worth it. YMMV

PS. Where are my manners, Welcome to THR.

I searched some on this forum and also read some online reviews. It seemed the response was far more positive that negative, and it seems that most people find it more reliable that it's made in Turkey counterparts in the same price range.

I ended up jumping on the deal and traded off my Mossberg 9200. I now have $400 and traded a gun that I never liked to get in this Stoeger--I think I will take that deal any day of the week.

I don't know how much I'll use the 20ga barrels, but I ended getting the combo for the same difference that Cabela's wanted for just a 12ga Condor Supreme.

Now I'll have to pick up a field gun before fall for bird season. Most likely a Benelli Supernova in Advantage Max4.

Good luck with Condor. I still have mine, but don't shoot it too much. If you have FTF issues and Bennelli doesn't get it fixed I can tell you how I fixed mine.
