I bought a Stoeger M2000 a couple of weeks ago. I have always been a huge 870 fan, still am, but after cycling the slide for 100 or so times, my left elbow hurts for 2 days (authritis). Time for an autoloader. I did a lot of research on the web on various shotguns, and for the money this one looked good in spite of a number of negative posts. It seems that the earlier guns had some problems, but the latest ones (the Turkish made ones) are relatively trouble free.
Yesterday, I shot ~125 rounds on the skeet range with it, and a similar amount a couple of weekends ago. This brings my round count to ~250.
I had a couple of failures to go into battery on the first few rounds, but I induced that issue by using a lubricant that was too heavy. As soon as I cleaned it out and lubricated the gun with a light lubricant it has been 100% since. I think Rem Oil is the perfect lubricant for this gun. Very light. It would be nice if the manufacturer made a lubrication recommendation for this gun, but I haven't found one yet.
Gotta say, I was skeptical at first, but I figured, what the heck, if I just hate it, I can sell it and consider it a $75 or $100 lesson and move on. Reality is, it fits me well, takes Beretta/Benneli chokes (it came with 5, including super full extended turkey) has decent looking wood and I shoot it really well. Decent trigger, very light, super simple to break down and clean, I'm just not finding much not to like. I paid $399.00 for it at Dicks.
