I live in Marana, Az. Northwest of Tucson. My Remington Rand 5 digit serial numbered .45 was stolen from my house approximately 6 weeks ago. I have the serial #. The slide was an essex, with my first initial and last name engraved on the right side. The gun was worked on by Nelson Ford of Phoenix, Az, and had Wilson combat sights and custom trigger work done.
I would appreciate any help in finding it. I've had it since 1987, and I miss it.
Thanks

Wow, that's horrible.
I wouldn't think that criminals would be interested in a 1911.
I'd get a Glock or something that'd perk their interest, and put it somewhere accessible... >_>

Crimminals are interested in any handgun, either for use or for selling. I doubt the scum bag even looked at it as he robbed the house. I expect once he sees what he has and that it is easily identifiable he may try to hock it or scratch or grind out the serial number and personalized markings. Sorry to hear of your loss. :(
