These crappy plastic hoppes(oil) containers keep leeking. Has anyone experienced this and if so what do you suggest?

I have a tin can of Hoppe's Lubricating oil probably as old as I am, back when Hoppes's orginally was Penguin Industries. It is put away, still it seeps a wee bit.

New Hoppes's Oil : Put this into a empty Zippo Lighter fluid tin. Seems to leak less, though any oil seems to seep a wee bit, just tin cans are less prone .

FWIW - Ballistol creeps period! Has to be the most penetrating stuff I have ever used. Great lube, still I stuck a empty Zippo Lighter fluid tin of this Ballistol in the Fridge...I was curious if temps flunctuation has something to do with it...nope, Ballistol is just that penetrating, creeps "up".

I think they changed the plastic Ronsonal Lighter Fluid to a better container - tighter top or something- still looks the same. Buddy of mine put Dexron II (auto trans fluid) in one for gun lube and it seeps no more than the Zippo tins. [ that older Ronsonal sure leaked!]

Downside to plastic ones are exposure to UV rays breaking down the plastic Ronsonal , Zippo or Red Devil lighter fluid tins will not.
