oh, here and there...
hello,

i could use some tips/advice. i got a new beretta storm and tried to give it an initial cleaning before taking it to a range.

i got the push pin out and the upper assembly slid forth maybe an inch. after that i can't seem to get it to slide all the way out like the manual shows.

would another storm owner please be so kind and let me know what i'm doing not right? i feel like a dork

thanks,

the only thing i can think of is that the hammer is not cocked back and is catching. my friends storm nearly falls apart after the pin is removed. if you can push back together check to make sure the hammer is back. that is my first thought, its worth a try.

pull out the cocking handle, you'll see the round hole cut in the slot, pull it back until you can remove it... also make sure the hammer is cocked before you pull the upper off...

and check out the manual before you're calling beretta ordering more parts :D

just wanted to say a big thanks to those who replied. yup -- it turned out to be as simple as releasing the cocking handle. it broke down and reassembled real easy after that.

i finally gave it a cleaning and oiling and brought it to a range. keeee - that is a fun little carbine! it makes it very easy to burn through alot of ammo.

thanks again,

You stop that, Chris! I don't need to be losing any more money - or sleep! - over beautiful guns. :neener:

Sorry 3rd!!! :p

Actually - ''beautiful'' is not a word I find I can use for the Storm. Even now the shape is very ''Flash Gordon'' LOL - to me. Thing is tho - I find once you pick it up and shoot - it feels so darned good, the looks hardly matter. Beretta did it seems put a lot of thought into ergonomics and I'll take that any day over pure aesthetics.

They are somewhat high priced tho.
