Story about an ND that ruined a family

What is WRONG with (some of) you people?

This woman lost a child. A 4-year-old daughter. Have any of you ever lost a child to a negligent discharge? Until you cross that threshold, you have no idea what that would feel like or how it would make you react to such a request from a tenant.

False logic. I don't have to personally experience every situation in life to have "some idea" what it might be like. For example I have never lost a child of my own, I have however....

Lost a good friend due to a drunk driver running him down on the sidewalk.

Lost a good friend due to him getting sucked into a hay bailer.

Lost a good friend due to a surgical screw up.

Lost a good friend due to (his own) reckless driving.

All of these were seriously upsetting to me and took a long time to come to terms with, but all of them were the result of gross negligence on the part of some person and none of them ever caused me to want to ban/avoid/etc any sort of automobile, alcohol, surgical implement, or farm equipment.

Now I sympathize deeply with the woman for her loss, but she is a prime example of why you shouldn't let the grieving set policy, because they will, almost without fail, set a policy that makes them "feel better" not one that actually makes any sense.

Wow... a very sad story on how a ND killed a child and ruined the rest of the family unit. It is sad that they could not get through the sad/bad situation and be there for one another as husband and wife... for the children too.

I am sorry to hear that such a thing happened even if I know that such things CAN and DO happen.

Best wishes to you and yours in your house/land search.

Take care.

Henry Bowman is right about the bottom line and what the owner of ANY residential property can dictate to the renter when it comes to 'commercial use'.

I know of people who had bad situations where a loved one died and stopped doing x, y or z. It may not make sense to some of you and it does NOT make sense to ME thinking that they should GET OVER IT but I have seen this happen.

It happens in many situations as the one man discussed where he lost a friend to this or that whether it was a vehicle accident to whatever.

Many of those people STOPPED driving or stopped bailing or you name it!

It does not make sense to me but some people can't get over it and that does not always include GUN SAFETY or lack of gun safety. ND - I "heard" and READ that it could happen and/or ignoring gun safety issues or fill in the blanks when it comes to gun ownership or ANY other OBJECT ownership including a swimming POOL, boat, tractor, lawn mower, chain saw, carving knife, vehicle - drunk driver or any other vehicle accident where a person was killed or injured, water bucket, bathtub/shower slip, etc.

There are many OBJECTS and TOOLS out there that can hurt or kill you IF YOU DO NOT USE THE OBJECT PROPERLY AND SAFELY. IT IS THE HUMAN BEING WHO HANDLES THEM AND THE OBJECT HAS NO PULSE OF IT'S OWN. Safety first in using any of them.

Take care.
