Yeah I just came across that too. All these antis are just making less work for the NRA by putting their own names on the list hehe. I don't understand why celebrities think they're high and mighty politicians all of a sudden. Beyond what some of them can do on a silver screen, they get no respect from me.

/sigh When will they understand that NOT ONE of the weapons that were banned in 1994 were "miitary assault weapons"?
All the current military assault weapons are capable of burst or full auto modes...which were already hard to get your hands on legally.
But then again, they really don't care. All they care about is trying to make a name for themselves and thus get more money. Seeing as how the media will only publish stories about anti-RKBA types, that is the route that they go.
BTW: An AR-15 has a cyclic rate of 800 rounds per minute. That calculates to ~13 rps. It is possible with good trigger manipulation to shoot 12 rounds in 2 seconds. You would just have to be in close proximity to be able to put them all in the kill zone...

Is that 800rounds/min in auto mode? I would think pulling the trigger 13 times in one second, let alone 12 times in two seconds, is pretty near impossible.
It means that the rifle's action is capable of cycling 800 times in 1 minute. This is most applicable to full auto mode, which in 2 seconds would mean that you could shoot ~26 rounds.
But it is not inconceivable to shoot 12 times in semi-auto in 2 seconds.
Try this excersie: Just pretend that you are squeezing a trigger and then letting go just enough for what the trigger would need to reset. On an AR the trigger pull is not that long. Then time yourself for 2 seconds. You should be able to make it 10-12 times in 2 seconds. But like I said, you would not be that accurate because you are not compensating for recoil.
I have shot like this in real life on live fire ranges when we had to "expend all remaining ammo" I could unload a mag faster in semi than my friend could on burst.
I am not saying that it is advantageous to do this, and that someone without training "could put 12 slugs in a cops chest in 2 seconds", but it is mechanically possible.
