Hello everyone. I've decided to undertake a simple project. Very simple, actually. Every time I go to the shooting range, I'm going to take a picture of my target and report back here what kind of ammo I fired, which gun I fired it out of, and at what distance. Then, I will post all of that info here. That way I'll be able to go to a single thread to see how/what I was shooting at any given time.

I have no clue if anybody but me will care about this, but here it is nonetheless.

Today I hit the range with both of my Glocks...I left the 45 at home.

2012_09_02-25Yards.jpg
Glock 17. 50 rounds of Speer Lawman 115 gr FMJ @ 25 Yards. (I'm pretty decent with my G17, and I should be, at almost 15K rounds fired.)

Glock 26. 80 rounds of Monarch 115 gr FMJ @ 7 yards.

Glock 26. 20 rounds of Monarch 115 gr FMJ @ 15 yards.

Obviously, I need some work with the G26. For some time I've been only dumping my G26's carry ammo when I go to the range and focusing on my G17 because I've had it forever and I'm good with it, but I realize that it's foolish to always shoot my G17 when most of the time it sits at home while my G26 is the gun I carry with me. Well, that's gonna change. From now on, the G26 get's the lion's share of the rounds and the G17 only gets a few here and there.

^Doesn't look like your comment posted, with_teeth, maybe a cell phone malfunction? Please re-post as I'm hungry for any input people might have.

good stuff. keep 'em coming. I might just join in next time I hit the range. I went yesterday but didn't take pics. :(
Where do you find Monarch ammo? I've never heard of it. Good stuff?

Monach is Academy Sports and Outdoors' "store brand" ammo. It's Serbian made brass-cased ammo that I'e been shooting for YEARS. I've literally put thousands of rounds of it downrange and I haven't had a single malfunction yet. Great stuff. And cheap as well.

I'd be interested in hearing how you are shooting - that is, drawing and firing, bill drills, best groups etc.

For the Glock 26, I alternate between "draw from pocket" (I pocket-carry my G26) and "low ready." I carry my G26 10+1 in the chamber and an Glock 17 magazine for a reload. So I'll usually burn through the 11 rounds and then reload and burn through the remaining 17.

With the Glock 17, sometimes I'll draw from a Galco OWB holster and sometimes I'll start from a low ready and sometimes I'll just pick it up off the table and start shooting. With almost 15k rounds through it, I've probably done pretty much everything you can think of.

The XDm-45 Compact is essentially brand new. I've shot it twice. I'm still getting a feel for it so those sessions were slow, aimed fire starting from a proper shooting stance with the gun aimed at the target.

For today's range trip I brought my G26 and my XDm-45

Overall not a bad day. Honestly, though, I'm surprised at how well I'm shooting this new XDm-45. I love my Glocks and I'll never get rid of them, but I think the XDm platform is just a more natural fit for me. I shoot the XDm about as well as I shoot my G26, and I have 4X the rounds through the G26.

As always, your input and comments are appreciated! :)

Hey everybody out there in THR land! Got out to the range for the first time in 3 weeks and here are the results! As always, your input and comments are greatly appreciated. Again, today only my XDm and Glock 26 went to the range...the G17 stayed at home.

My Thoughts
1. I think I'm getting better with the little G26. And seeing as how I'm nearing in on 1,000 rounds through it I should be.

2. I'm really impressed with the Xdm-45 Compact. After only 300 rounds I certainly shoot it better than the Glock 26 and I think as time goes on and I get more accustomed to it, I'll shoot it better than my vaunted Glock 17! :what:

3. Speaking of the G17, I really need to take her out next time. She's getting neglected and she'll never reach 15,000 rounds if I don't start shooting her more.
