Stripped screw head

How do you get a screw with the head stripped out of a shoulder pad? I have the pad off. Its for a Remington shotgun. The rubber pad is on a plastic base will that come apart and go back together?

Rubber pads mounted to plastic bases do not usually come apart. If you have the pad off, you should be able to push the screw out from the front, no?

I don't think the screw will push out the front, there is only about 1/8" left outside when it gets against the back and then it needs to be pushed through that little hole at the back. just now i was wondering if i could start it into a small piece of dowl and then i'd have something to push with.

Thats what I would do.

I've done the same thing with a junk section of cleaning rod, only because it was handy.

Yep!
A cleaning rod, minus the screw-in tip will center itself on the screw point and push it right out.

add a little dishsoap or oil in the hole to help it ease out
