Stronger mounts for press?

For someone that doesn't have the ability to drill precise holes in steel plates, or have a tool & die buddy, take a look at the Pat Marlins rock dock.

http://www.patmarlins.com/

It uses thick aluminum plates that slide into a base. You simply mount your-----whatever, press, powder measure, lubrisizer, to the plates. You can mount over a leg that's anchored to the floor, or whatever, where ever.

sturdy press mount

Wrage: I use my Lee Classic Turret mount for everything from 223 Remington to 40 caliber pistol, 7.62 X 54 .311 Mosin Nagant reloads. It works great for all. When reloading .270, 30-06, or 7.62X54 I stack three Lee powder disks to get the required 53 Grains of powder. Lee doesn't advise this but I've had no problems. I simply used longer screws and make sure I hesitate in the powder charging stage to get the correct amount of powder loads the case.

jekemi2005: Well I already bought a classic cast single stage for my rifles - hopefully my next purchase will be a handgun...then of course I will need a turret-press for that gun as well ;) Then I suppose an AR then a progressive press for that one...

(It's my way for me to get more reloading trinkets through my wife-filter/firewall)

Snuffy that set-up looks pretty tough, kinda like R.W. Dale's setup. Good option for sure!

jekemi, Wrage,

So you guys like my "sandwich" job with the steel plates covering huh? This thought just came to me when I was getting things into a semblance of order, trying to figure out where to put the press, and all of the other goodies when starting my bench build. Glad I could help!:D
