I was shooting the other day with my 12 ga Yildiz O/U. Hadn't shot a ton, but enough to heat it up pretty good. I went to eject two spend shells, and the top extractor got stuck. The shell was stuck in there tight, so I couldn't pull it out. I shot my 20 ga instead, so no big deal, but I was a little miffed. After the gun cooled down, the ejector worked just fine. I used grease for lubrication, and there was quite a bit of it. Did I just over grease it, and it got gunked up, or do you think this is a bigger issue? Thanks.

you use grease to lube? I would suggest using a light oil....grease does tend to get gunked up in extreme temps. especially if there's alot of it...

Well, I felt like the oil would run off as it sits in the case until its time to use, whereas the gun grease stays put. I'll try oil, and just make sure to check it before I go out again, to see if I have a similar problem. Thanks.

Sounds like you're overlubing if that happens...

When I clean my 870 and use oil I use a rag dipped in high viscosity stuff to put a very thin layer all over and inside. I then add extra drops (one or two at most) to the places that have metal on metal contact and dab off any excess. I then open and close the action just to get the thing cycling a few times (in O/U I would open/close)...hope that helps. I'm not as familiar with O/Us...I'm actually surprised more people have responded yet...give 'em some time :)

Clean it well, use a thin oil (and not much of it) and see if the problem occurs again. I'm not familiar with the particular gun you have, but I tend to run almost all of my shotguns pretty dry. Sometimes I'll put a little grease on my Browning 425 O/U, but only a single dollup less then 1/2 the size of a pencil eraser, and it gets spread out thoroughly and the excess cleaned up after the action is closed.
