Stuck Tokarev Case

Chinese Tork firing S&B steel-case ball ammunition. Empty case is stuck in chamber, barrel not quite locked. Slide is removeable but can't figure out what to do next, There's some play in the barrel, but not sure if it's completely unlocked.

Where do I start hammering, and how to avoid it again?

Before the jam there was some slugging extraction and heat build-up of 50+ shots with only pause for reloading.

If you can remove the slide, take out the spring and the bushing and barrel might also come free. Then get a dowel and pound the case out.

The way it's locked up the extractor is still solidly gripping the case. Will the dowel way still work?

No, only with the barrel out.
With the slide off, I'd give a few "gentle" raps on the barrel end, back end of the extractor, and the chamber area visible in the ejector port. I don't think you can really hurt the thing, but don't try to kill it.
