Folks - I've seen them out there, but I sure as heck cant find them. I have a dillon 550 on a sturdy mount.. awesome. I have a lee classic cast that I'd like to put on a sturdy mount with an adapter plate (mount press to the plate, plate to sturdy mount).

I have no doubt the mount is up to it.. but I cannot find anyone manufacturing an adapter plate for it ... Anyone know of anyplace?

The reason I want this.. I'm building a new bench.. gonna route out a section for the mounts so I can do quick changes (threaded sleeve insert on bench top, threaded rod through the bottom, and wingnuts for quick swapout of presses). I also want the presses removable so I can cover up the holes left when no press is in use and have an almost solid top work table.

Ideas?

I totally agree, but its not as clean looking.

That and I want the bolts secured from underneath and permanently sticking up.. so when the presses aren't in use I'd like to be able to cover them without removing the protruding bolts for a nice smooth working surface.

I already have the strong mount for the dillon, and I only want one set of rods sticking through, so my plan is to use the strong mounts for both, with just a plate to adapt the lee to it (so its got the exact same footprint)

I'd suggest a set of threaded inserts down into the bench top. You really don't want anything sticking up, especially if its threaded. McMaster Carr sells some
very nice 1/4-20 inserts that take a 3/8 pilot hole and install with an allen key. I've got them recessed into the top of my bench and they hold strongmounts for my Dillon presses and various other items I have mounted.

A little preplanning of hole locations will allow you to mount a variety of items on your bench and make them all quickly and easily removable.

mahn.. they wont be sticking up unless they are capped with a nut and a press.

I've had threaded inserts pull through, I really dont trust em. Thats why the cover goes on.. the threaded rod only sticks out 1/3rd of an inch or so., The top is inlet that much (1" + thickness, reinforced with 2x4's) and a cutting board about that that thickness is laid over top to hide all the mounting hardware. The threaded insert is only there to keep the threaded rod from falling back through when i pull the press
