What do you think all?

I really like the Sub compact XD in 9mm but have no aversions to combat Tupperware either.

If I look at the Glock, I have caliber choice also.
9mm, 40S&W (same two for SA also) .357SIG, .45 and .45GAP (Edit forgot to add the .10mm) all in a subcompact.

My two pistols I own now are both SIG's a P229 in .40S&W and a P220 in .45

Any comments on any of the subcompact models above?
Pluses or minuses?

I want a subcompact for those times when the SIG's are too bulky or my close have to fit closer than I would like.

Let me know your thoughts.

Please.

Carried a Glock 26 for 8 years - good gun, but never liked the trigger. Now, I have had a Walther P99 compact w/ the A/S trigger since Nov - LOVE the gun :)

I currently own the following handguns

Springfield XD 3" Subcompact 9mm
Springfield XD 4" Service 9mm
S&W Highway Patrolman 6" .357

The Subcompact is my favorite of them all for carrying (of course i never tried to conceal the revolver...).

It is a GREAT performer at the range, and it is very very concealable. And it feels great in my hand.

I recommend it without hesitation, but everyones mileage may vary.

If you wait for the Shot Show I bet you'll be able to get a S&W M&P compact. Niiiiiiiccceee.

I personally prefer the xd in no matter what frame size it is in, or caliber. sub-compact, service model and the tactical, compared to the respective sizes of the glocks. but i am an xd guy so that is to be expected. But let it be known that i personally believe that both companies make great weapons, and either would serve you well. I say as always shoot both if at all possible, that would be best.

Pro's of xd over the glock.
Three dot sights
metal sights
better grip angle
metal trigger
less expensive
no finger groves a +for me.

Just a few there are more that should be aenough to get things started!

I recommend against the Glock 27 (subcompact 40), it is not as reliable as the full sizes. I get about 1 round sticking on the ramp out of about 500, which I find unacceptable, but not quite enough to send back.

The glocks are good, but only if you like glocks. I do, but have to say that the XDs fit a tad bit better (my opinion). The 9mm XD subcompact is a good shooter, I haven't fired the .40 version. Mr.S is right, you should look into the Sig 239, very nice compact. HKs are expensive but also nice (but more like midsize than compact). The only think about XDs is they are even chunkier than glocks, slightly more top heavy, and have a much longer trigger reset. If that doesn't bother you and you like the grip angle better, that's the one to go with. By the way, XD is just as much polymer as Glock, so combat tupperware applies in their case as well if you're going to call it that.

My XD problem

I liked the XD ok as a shooter. I did have it rust after only a little over a month. Granted, I'm in Oregon, and it's humid. But I keep my guns pretty clean, and it rusted pretty quick. On the plus side, Springfield did offer to refinish for free.

Greeting's noops My Friend-

Not too steal the thread, but just too offer a little FYI on the Springfield
XD series pistols. If you apply a thin coat of Blue Wonder Armadillo too
any Springfield XD slide, it will prevent the rust problem that you are
having. Springfield's new melonite finish (found on the XD .45's) doesn't
have a rusting problem as per say; but I applied the Armadillo to my .45's
slide, as I shoot in all kind's of foul weather (and climates).:uhoh:  :D

Pre-2006 versions of the XD were protected with a metal treatment called Burinal™. Many who own pistols with the Burinal™ treatment have reported significant rust problems - especially those who carry the XD against their skin. Fortunately, current versions of the XD are being manufactured with a treatment called Melonite™, which is the same process (albeit with a different trade name - apparently for copyright reasons) as the near-legendary Tenifer™ coating used on Glocks. According to Springfield Armory, in the future all pistols in the XD line will receive the Melonite™ treatment, which should put an end to the rust problem.

At the moment, only the 45 XDs have melonite - all the others are still the regular finish.

Get the XD sub compact its a great gun. Just to point out though the Sig229 is not much bigger then the XD.

Yes that's why I am looking at the SUB-COMPACTS.
My 229 and 220 are too big some times so the need of the 3"-ers arise.

SIG P239, HK USPc to big for what I need.
