I'd say something like that would be called using a 22 conversion kit... even 22lr might be > the speed of sound.

A .22 air-rifle pellet and 1.5 - 2.0 grains of Bullseye is quiter then an air-rifle and just as powerful.

Trying to load sub-sonic with .223 jacketed bullets is asking to stick one in the bore.
If you must do it, use cast lead bullets.

Keep in mind a subsonic (1100 fps or less) load isn't going to have much in the way of energy. A 75 grain bullet at 1100 fps gives you only about 167 ft/lbs of energy.

Maybe I'm not much help either, but...

So far, in all replies only one guy actually answered the OP's question,

Anyway, maybe you don't want 'pre-loaded' ammo, and want to load your own specifically; but if not, here's some:

I also have a fascinnation with subsonic loads of all kinds in ALL calibers! So good luck!

I ruined a perfectly good savage barrel shooting .223 subsonics. I dont advise it. Plus its still louder than a 22LR says my DB meter

i've shot plenty of subsonic 223 from 55-100g and never stuck one in a barrel.

not sure how you could ruin a barrel shooting subsonics either. and i don't see any possible way that a subsonic 223 could be louder than a supersonic 22lr.

the fact that it won't cycle the action makes it even quieter.

there are several published subsonic loads. there are also several threads on this topic. use search
