95gn nosler ballistic tip over 40.9 grains of Reloder19, my gf took a nice doe at 150 yards, dropped where it was shot.

EDIT: shoots into one hole at 75 yards out of a Savage Axis (with a Timney trigger granted)

I replied to this thread on Nov 27th but can add that while I'm still in the process of refining the load, 95 gr Hornady SSTs with Hybrid 100V is looking very promising as well.

Never mine....old thread....who I was answering probably not around.

Is there some kind of secret decoder ring for all these acronyms?

I'm still around. Whatcha got on your mind?

Mostly that this thread is taxing my sanity......
Being the "helpful" sort, I was just adding to the acronym library you asked for,
.....then I noticed that the thread started in November and figured you'd figured them all out by now
.....then you replied today....
.....then I realized you just asked the question yesterday....not in November.... so okay, I'll re-post even though I'm probably not adding anything you don't know:

DM~ posted another acronym in post 14:
I've owned a .243 Win. since the 70's, and I no longer will even shoot at a deer with my .243, unless it's loaded with 95 or100NP's...

YES they are that much better of a bullet for deer sized game, in .243... They will deliver deep penetration with plenty of expansion, just what's needed for a less than perfect shot that you will some times get.

That same bullet works VERY well in my .240 Wby. too...

DM.

95 or 100 NP is Nosler Partition. Great bullets, but Ballistic Tips and Sierra Gamekings though not as potent have served me well.

I have only used IMR 4350 and Winchester 760. When I was younger I shot a few 1/2" 100 yd. groups using 100 gr. Gameking over Winchester 760 out of a Remington 600 carbine of all things! That was quite a few years ago......using a Lee Target Loader!......again, of all things. Yeah, I know, sounds like a big fish story.
But honestly, once I got my RCBS Rockchucker, and a Speer Manual (my first manual) I just loaded with 4350.....never tried the 760 again....why not? Young and stupid maybe? Who knows..... but those 1/2" one-holers I still remember well. Still have the Remington 600. But now my grandson takes the deer with it. :)
