my hands are kinda fat and my fingers arnt to long.Any suggestions of models i should check out..I would like it to be .45acp or .357.Thanks for any suggestions.Would also like it to be under 500 bucks..
Fat hands with short fingers describes me.
I’ve found 1911s with the short trigger and S&W K frames with stocks that expose the backstrap to be the fit best for me.
Colt Government Model. BHP. GP100. No Smith revolver except for a 2" 19/66 with Pachmayr grips. The Vaquero fits(so would a Colt SAA, but that big money) as does the Super Redhawk. Any double action autoloader is a joke in my hand.
Star PD, a compact alloy frame .45 acp 1911 look-alike.
They are available used, parts are expensive if available, but the gun is usually available cheap.
If you get a good one, and it isn't your only gun, it will last a long time.
Good examples are still available for less than $300, and they have been out of production for a while, but I can tell you first hand they are sweet shooters.
Think of it this way....
How much would you pay for a compact alloy frame 1911?
