Hey guys, any recommendations for non-smith drilled scope mounts for a tapered barrel 22LR. Gun in question in a Winchester model 68. I know Weaver makes compatible adapters, but they do require a gunsmith to drill and tap it. However the gun already has a botched set of drill holes on it, so I would like to avoid adding more holes.
I have considered split clamp tactical adapters (round clamp to weaver)
something like this
These would require relief cuts in the stock, but otherwise should work.
Today I stumbled on an Ruger MKII mount that looks like it could be shimmed to work with the barrel.
B-Square makes the mount in question
Anybody have any brighter ideas??
