Hello! Forum members, I bought a DB9 (Diamondback) the other day and haven't had good luck with shooting it, has I keep having jams with it. : (So I went looking around the net for solutions and found this.
---> http://www.gunblast.com/Diamondback-DB9.htm
Now I'm having the same jams shown in the pictures to the left as you scroll down. So according to this article, I need to feed the little pistol with preium ammunition. Or hotter reloaded ammunition, but the manual says not rated for +P ammunition. So I'm asking here for anyone with experances with their DB9 and what works? BTW I have plans to head out again tomorrow and try some factory preium ammo, speer 124gr gold dots or some Cor-bon ammunition, to see if the good stuff will work, before contacting some at Diamondback Firearms. Thanks in advance, LM.

Your best bet is to get in touch with DB and ask them for a pre-paid UPS label to be sent to you so you can send it back to them to get it repaired.
They actually have very good customer service.
I should know as I sent my original DB 380 twice,the second time they gave me a completely new pistol and it too was sent back twice before it was repaired.
It now sits in the safe more than it is shot.

heeler, thanks for the reply. I did go out this morning and had the same problems with factory and my own preium loaded ammo, which is loaded hot but not rated +P. Using hornady's 115gr XTP over 6.7grs Power pistol (Hot as loading data shows) which really stings when shooting out of this pistol, still wouldn't function. FWIW, I can duplicate the usual jam shown with round stuck going up the feed ramp working the slide back but stopping short of catching the back of the cartridge and letting go will look exactly like what I'm experencing. It just seems it me that the recoil spring is overly strong, when I compare this to my Kahr PM9, which never gives me any trouble. I'm going to contact DiamondBack soon. LM

Have you tried FMJ ammo? The flatter hollow point might be getting hung up.

We have had a number of customers complain about their DB9's... one had a truly defective gun, the rest are limp wristing. Are you SURE you aren't limp wristing?

Their CS is great. It has to be with the product they put out. I had the same experience as Heeler with a DB380. The difference is that I traded the new one for an LCP when it arrived from the factory.:barf:

drsfmd, I don't believe I am limp-wristing, while it is a snappy little pistol, and I have the blister on my trigger finger to prove it. As a side note, I went out again this afternoon and fired some more rounds through it, and yes they were factory FMJ with round nose profiles. I had several jams maybe 50% of the time. Then finished off those hand loaded Hornady XTP's I had shot earlier. Thats when it seemed to get a little better, still had jams, but near out of ammo, I finially got 5 rounds in a row off without a malfunction. I'm wondering now if it just needs some more breaking in, to get it to work. Still going to call CS this week, and see what they say, as I won't get to the range till next weekend, to shoot it anymore. Besides I need to let my trigger finger heal up, along with my sore off-hand wrist, from having to pull the slide back to clear the jams. LM

Lightningman - I shot my DB9 for the first time on Friday - a few jams out of about 50 rounds. I shot it again today - about 150 rounds. Again, a few jams, but the last 5 mags were flawless. I have heard that about alot of the DB380s and DB9s. After 200-300 rounds, they seem to run well. It makes sense - the tolerances have to be extremely tiny!!

booboo22, I sent mine back about 3 weeks ago, and haven't heard back from them yet. Even sent CS an e-mail on the status on it this past week, but haven't got a return e-mail yet either. LM

I hope they get it back to you quickly! I am sending in my DB380 this week(trigger issue). They have promised quick turnaround.

My DB9's performance today made me pretty happy. Hopefully it won't be going back - ever!

Any updates on your DB9, LightningMan? I got my DB380 back last week - they gave me a brand new gun! Took it to the range a few days ago, and it ran perfect - about 300 rounds, and not a siongle hiccup.
