Diamondback DB9 Problems

I bought a DB9 about a month ago and I've had nothing but problems with it. It won't feed anything reliably. About once or twice per mag it will jam, either ramming the bullet nose against the top of the chamber or pointing it straight up in the air like a stovepipe jam only with the next unfired round. I tried three different brands of FMJ ammo and three brands of HP. I called Diamondback and they said to try Hornady Critical Defense ammo. I tried it today and it's the same or worse than everything else I've tried. I need to send the gun back to them but I'm reluctant to do that because it'll cost about $60 to ship it. Anybody have any experience with these and possible solutions? I'm about at my wits end with this gun. BTW It's for sale.

Feeding angle problems like this are frequently caused by the magazine. See if they will send you a new one. (Magazines - in fact every part of the gun but the frame/receiver - can simply be mailed.)

Good idea. I'll ask them. I'm seems like the feed ramp is to steep but a new mag is worth a try.

Yeah, I bought one of those for my girlfriend earlier this year. It misfired about every 4-5 rounds or so and the accuracy sucked. Kel tec sent me a new firing pin and spring that didn't do anything and then I sent the slide and barrel back to them and they sent a whole new upper assembly. That finally fixed the mis fire problem but accuracy was still not satisfactory. The whole process kind of soured the PF9 for me. I will say they have excellent customer service though. I've got several friends who have Ruger LCP's and those are great. Never had a misfire or jam, no matter what kind of ammo and accuracy is very impressive for such a small gun. I've resisted getting one so far because I don't like the ballistics of the .380 but with the issue's I've had with the last two mini 9's I think I may just go with the LCP.

The accuracy isn't bad for what it is. The trigger pull is atrocious...to me anyway, and we all know how trigger pull opinions are very subjective. Take the cm9 or cw9 Kahr pistols for a test drive, you'll find they are pretty nice with a very good trigger pull. It is a bit long for some people, and DAO so it feels like a really light revolver triger pull. Very slick in my opinion.

After my dealer calling DB and threatened to boycott DB, they paid the shipping (twice), for all the good it did.

I'd suggest you get what you can out of the gun or you will just keep throwing good money after bad.

I'm gonna sound like I just like to complain here. It's really not how I am! But, I also had a Kahr cw9 a couple years ago. I didn't like the fact that you could not put a mag in and then cycle the slide to chamber a round. I had to lock the slide back, insert the mag and then let the slide go. It was annoying. I called Kahr and they said that's the way it's supposed to be. I'm used to a glock so getting used to doing that was a pain and possibly dangerous under stress where I needed to use the gun. As much as it may not make sense, the accuracy of the LCP far surpasses the PF9 in my experience.
