they are your eyes, if you feel comfortable shooting with them, they that is what matters. i have been shooting on and off for over 45 years. for the vast majority of them, i had no eye protection at all. partly, because i did not know better (in my younger years) and partly because i did not think i needed anything. probably 25 years ago, i had an incident, that changed my veiw on that point. i had a firearm (22lr semi-auto) that double fed. when the bolt slammed home, the second cartridge went off (which was pointed sideways, bullet end out the side) and i was sprayed with hot burning powder all over my face. luckily, i was shooting by myself, so no one really got hurt aside from some nasty residue in my eyes. but the next day, i went to the gun store and bought a set of shooting glasses! that pair has been gone for a while now, but i own several newer pair now. i either shoot with them, or a pair of tinted snap-on safety glasses. exception, i do not use eye protection when i am hunting. although, with my eyes, ( i am going to need glasses soon) that may soon be changing.
