I have been working on a High standard Supermatic 12 guage for a friend and i am at my wits end with this thing! To be honest I probably have less experience with semi-auto shotguns than any other type of firearm, but i thought I could figure it out. The gun will fire just fine if you load one shell at a time, but if you load any in the magazine there is roughly a 50/50 chance of a doble feed, or that it won't extract the spent shell hull. At one point the bolt would not slide back and when I forced the bolt back the extractor actually tore the rim of the hull!
Any thoughts or tips would be greatly appreciated as I am about to throw this pretty shotgun in the lake!

Thanks so much

I also have a jc higgins made by high standard in 20 gauge doing the same thing yours is. Must be a common problem, mine is a safe queen right now . would not trust it as far as I could throw it. It also ejects loaded shells

Thanks for the word of...incouragement, discouragement? I am begining to think that this gun might be best used if I took the firing pin out and hung it on the wall to look at!

I don't know I thought a good cleaning would help but nope. I have a good friend thats a gunsmith maybe he can figure it out graduated from Dino-tec. If i get an answer i'll post it here

I would appreciate anything you, or he, finds out! Maybe we'll both get lucky and he'll see what we can't!
