I always suspect it could be done with the Moisin Nagant revolver because of the way the cylinder moves forward and seals itself against the barrel. Here's one with a Cobray suppressor attached to it. You Tube Link

Gary, did you really open a new thread of my thread not even off this front page? YOU'RE A MOD, MAN!

Oh, and it's Cobra, by YHM, not Cobray.

And, Nagant revolver. Sergei Mosin had nothing to do with it.

I believe a Dan Wesson could be also be supressed, since you COULD close the cyl gap up to nothing. It would however, quickly get hard to operate with any carbon build up on the front of the cyl.

It (or one very similar to it) showed up in an episode of The X files.

Janes Infantry Weapons (2006) has a picture on page 143.

Also in Kokalis' "Weapon Tests and Evaluations", p.265-70.

Based on a GP100. Fires a special 30 cal round.

The navy did that with K 38s back in the viet nam era. It worked and would shoot for a while without boggng down.

Mike threaded more than one, mine is A gun he threaded - probably not the first posted on ST.

The CIA actually issued Dan Wesson 44's with suppressors. These were used for shooting through obstructions (walls, bulkheads, rows of seats, etc.) I saw one demonstrated once. The hammer was cocked, and then the suppressor/barrel was rotated by hand until the barrel met the face of the cylinder. After the shot, the suppressor/barrel was rotated by hand to move forward so the cylinder could be indexed for another shot if needed.
