great answer! lolWell, if they are legal, I generally put them in the side pocket of the case I’m using…
Oooh wow! didn’t know this! thanks, and cery in courage!I have a copy of the NFA form on my phone.
It’s a good idea to keep it with you. Not every law officer is knowledgeable about NFA laws and nobody wants to sit “downtown” while he gets educated by his superiors.
There is no notification requirement, like with SBRs, upon leaving the state with it. Only eleven states don’t allow hunting with suppressors.
Always check the state you are wanting to enter. Laws change.
But fortunately humans are becoming educated about them, they are more and more socially accepted.
I feel it’s impolite to shoot in public without one!
1 page form, look easyJust have to fill out a form if you are changing your residence.

That form does not apply to silencers and AOW's, therefore not required.Just have to fill out a form if you are changing your residence.

No, the Form 5320.20 IS REQUIRED to be submitted and approved before an NFA firearm is transported across state lines with the explicit exception of silencers and AOW's.Is that the change form that is "recommended", but not required...?
There might have been a thread on here once that covered that, IIRC....
has anybody here actually moved from state to state with a silencer ?
The federal government and their forms. Too many T to cross and not enough I’s. I’m not going to buy a silencer until I know I’ll never move or the federal government becomes friendly to law abiding, tax paying citizens. We the people me butt!I did last year with my suppressors, I didn't use the Form since it is not required. Then again in 10 years I have never been questioned on the legality of them.

Don’t hold your breath, one may happen long before the other.I’m not going to buy a silencer until I know I’ll never move or the federal government becomes friendly to law abiding, tax paying citizens.
Once you have the initial permission slip from the feds, I don't think that they have much of any further impact. I don't see the barrier at all (other than having to pay a bit more and wait for a spell for the permission slip to take it home).I’m not going to buy a silencer until I know I’ll never move or the federal government becomes friendly to law abiding, tax paying citizens.
thanks for the clarity, I can get worked up sometimesOnce you have the initial permission slip from the feds, I don't think that they have much of any further impact. I don't see the barrier at all (other than having to pay a bit more and wait for a spell for the permission slip to take it home).
I'm not much for cutting off my nose to spite my face, but to each his own.
