Sure fire way to keep your AR from exploding...?

the top video looks like a bunch of douches who don't know what they're doing. the bolt won't close but they're still forcing it how many times? SPORT - stop pull observe release tap.

bottom - looks like he intentionally kept water in the gas system and barrel. it's a commercial from HK, what did you expect? lol.

if ARs are that bad, maybe that's why we haven't "won" iraq and afghanistan yet. write the army and point out their mistake. :D

part of the problem is that while rifle ammo is more expensive than pistol ammo, most people try to get the most bang for the buck. crap ammo runs like crap... and in high pressure rifles, the potential kaboom is worse than pistols. i've had my share of few in pistols, which is why i now reload all my ammo.

man...i bought a reloading setup and one of the calibers i was hoping to reload for was .223 (already bought a bunch of bullets, primers and powder)....this thread has me kind of scared though

I personally wouldn't have any problem reloading for an AR...BUT I would be making darn sure I took the right steps to minimize any chances of a slam fire happening in my gun.

What I gleaned off the fulton armory site was that semi-auto's with free floating firing pins need hard primers and that you HAVE to know your bullet seating dept off the lands and your rifle's headspace dimensions. Of course that means your going to need all of the guages to take measurements of your chamber and rounds to be sure that your rounds are not to long for your rifle's chamber.

I do all of this already with my bolt guns but I know a lot of guys that don't and get away with it because the posibility of a slam fire oesn't exist with a bolt action design.
