What's next? A run on generators and dehydrated food?
Actually, that's exactly what we did. When you're advancing on the enemy, you destroy arms caches you come across because you have no idea how long the war will last and/or if you'll get pushed back, or the enemy will in some other way gain access to the arms caches to continue using them against you.1. US gov buying it all to send to Iraq and Afghanistan
That whole place is an arms depo, assuming we didn't blow up all the caches we found over there they should be set for awhile.
IIRC, Wolf comes in on the west coast.3. Post hurricane distribution probs
OK, depending on what port the ammo enters through this might be true.
Military orders, while less $$ per round, make up for it in bulk. We're in a two front war, and we're supplying the guys we're training with ammo (we can't be buying from US sources, as we're having to contract Winchester, Remington, et al to keep up with the demand for .223. Then you factor in every little brush war, where both sides use AKs, then you have Venezuela going over to AKs and needing to acquire ammo stockpiles to go with.6. Wolf and other manufacturer's just plain can't keep up with demand.
Possible, but why would they be importing rounds that were not available earlier like .308 and 30 carbine. I doubt that they would reduce production of their "bread and butter" 7.62x39 to start production of other rounds that may or may not be in such high demand.
5. After the AWB expired, everyone and their brother went out and bought AK's, and bought all the ammo up.
Not likely all the ban ending really did is let us add the evil features back on and get new 30 round AK mags. I have seen more people buying ARs.
