Suspect Shot And Killed During Apparent Home Invasion

Tulsa - A man is dead after police say he attempted to break into an apartment and was shot by a man inside.

It happened at about 5:15 a.m. at the Sandy Park Apartments in the 6100 block of West 11th Street. We're told a man was staying at his brother's apartment when a man attempted to break into the apartment.

When the suspect made his way in, the man inside opened fire, striking the suspect several times. The suspect was taken to St. John Medical Center, but was later pronounced dead.

The man who fired the shots was taken in for questioning, but police believe he acted in self defense.

The man's wife and one child were also in the apartment at the time. No one else was hurt.

Glad it turned out ok. But I'll bet the shooter's ears are still ringing.

My HD weapon is a GP100 with four inch barrel loaded with factory 125 grain hollow points. I've often thought of what it would be like to touch off a few of those in an enclosed space, in the middle of the night, from out of a dead sleep.

P&R, I fired a .357 once without ear protection. It hurts. Alot. I also remember a story of a cop who wound up wrestling a prisoner over his .357 and it went off right by his head and that blew out his ear pretty good. Ask the BG to hold on a sec while you don ear protection.

which is why it pisses me off that silencers are banned.

my ideal HD handgun would be a sig p228 with CT, surefire model 340 light, 13 rnds of federal efmj, and a surefire silencer at the end of its threaded barrel.

it still won't be silent, but at least my ears won't be shot.


for now, i keep a pair of electronic muffs next to my gun, glasses, and flashlight (anybody got a model 340 surefire they want to sell?)

Gee, I don't think this good citizen/survivor ever read the recent "Non-Compliant Intruder" thread here on THR!

If he had done so, he would have surely welcomed that poor, socially-maladjusted, Non-Compliant Intruder with warm coffee, cookies, and compassion, and then invited him to sing Kumbaya and partake in seminars in "Non-Violent Conflict Resolution" and "Nuanced Decision-Making In High-Stress Interpersonal Confrontations," etc.

Listen up, buckos. This eeeevil survivor may have prevailed this time. However, for The Common Good and The Children, I urge that:

1. He be banned from THR before he ever tries to join, corrupt us, and render THR vulnerable to civil litigation by the likes of the Brady Bunch and Hair-Stylists For Gay Whales, plus...

2. His files be promptly turned over to the FBI for immediate addition to the "A" Watch-List of Violence-Prone Social-Undesirables, i.e., those most likely to resist future confiscatory measures... merely based upon their hard-won-but-very-un-PC Street Sense.

Guys like this survivor clearly have Blood Lust, and such a mindset is dangerous in a civilized, progressive society.
