HOUSTON -- A Houston man remained hospitalized Wednesday after being shot during a home invasion robbery, authorities said.

The shooting happened at shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday at the man's home, 1234 Mooney Road, in northeast Houston.

Investigators told News2Houston that the man and his wife were in their home when the three gunmen invaded their home and robbed them.

During the robbery, a shootout occurred between the man and the suspects, authorities said.

Police said that the man suffered a gunshot wound to his head and another to his back.

One of the suspects was also shot, authorities said.

Paramedics rushed the man to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he is listed in fair condition.

Investigators said the suspect's injuries are unknown.

The man's wife was not injured during the shooting.

Police said they are searching for the suspects, described as three men in their mid-20s.

The shooting is under investigation.

Good for the homeowner, but too bad he got shot.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the story.

At least the man and woman are still alive, though, the man was shot, he should make it.

The 3 suspects, still being sought, hopefully will be caught soon. And hopefully, the suspect that was shot is still being toted around by the other 2, or can be linked to the other 2 when he is found dead.

Too bad the woman didn't also shoot at the suspects. 2 vs 3 odds is better than 1 vs 3.
