Lordy, I'm glad to see all the responses to this. At 67, I no longer care about the pretty girls looking my way; I just want my britches to stay up and be comfortable, and support my firearm. I'm of the opinion that suspenders are indispensable for manly wear.
Suspenders under a t-shirt works great. Suspenders over the t-shirt and under a khaki vest or open-front shirt works great. No reason not to carry your favorite handgun just because it's summer. It seems the gun-carrying nation has become obsessed with light and short--the easiest gun to carry is the way to go. I don't agree with that at all. I carry because I might need to shoot. If I need to shoot, I want to draw from concealment the gun that I KNOW I can hit with and that has sufficient energy. Sub nines and .380's ain't it. You decrease too much barrel length from your favorite caliber and it becomes less of a gun, and very possibly insufficient.
The mindset of carrying what is convenient is better than what you would really like to have if you need it, is ridiculous. Any gun better than no gun is ridiculous when you live in a society that allows you to carry whatever. If you don't take your protection seriously, neither will your assailant.
If you might need 25 yard protection, carry a gun that will do that, held up by suspenders. Compromise is stupid. If you think you need a gun, carry the one you would want if you were faced with the worst scenario you can imagine. Oh, how sorry you would be if that scenario arises and you have a .380 or other belly gun.
The bigger guns are fun to shoot at the range, and most c/c people use them for only that. Find a way to secure what will work to your person and have it within reach all the time.
I sort of got off the topic.
