If you try and add a 24/7 oss to your cart it says it isn't currently available at uberarms. Mark

i like the 24/7 pro personally. my wife actually picked out this pistol (in 9mm) and it kind of grew on me. i like the ergonomics, and after a few mags i came to like the sights. we have put 12-1300 rounds thru it, which isnt substantial but no problems yet.

one thing to mention that nobody else has is that the 24/7 is not rated for +p or +p+ ammo. at least i think i remember seeing that in the manual (ok...my wife saw that in the manual that i didnt read).

im away from home right now and it makes me feel a little better to know that my wife has this gun loaded w/ 18 rounds of hydra-shoks w/ a streamlight tl2 attatched to it right next to the bed (with a 20 guage pump right next to it...). cant really give it much more praise then that.

i know nothing of the taurus other than the pt1911, which is a great gun. i also own the sigma, which is also a great gun. i 've had it for 2 years now, with only 2 snags: one FTF, and one stovepipe, both of which i'm sure were mag-related. get the sigma.

I have the 24/7 in a .40 cal. I dislike the snappiness of it, but that is as much a fault of the cartridge as the firearm. Reliability wise, it did have some hiccups out of the box, but after 100-200 rounds to break in, it runs smooth as ice, no FTFs/FTEs. An other interesting feature of the Taurus is the chrome-plated feed ramp to improve reliability. I think the chamber may also be chrome'd, but its hard to see.

On the trigger up-take. Its one of those things that if you've been shooting a lot, you'll notice, if you're just now picking it up, you'll be wondering what the :cuss: those guys are talking about? Myself, seeing as its been my 3rd gun, I hardly notice it. That said, this is my third firearm, and I didn't notice the uptake until people on this board started pointing it out, and even then its not any bother what so ever. The single-action pull is nice and crisp, and in case of a light-strike/bad primer the trigger works in DA mode as well, no need to rack the slide to reset the firing pin.

I guess Taurus wins this over SW. With respect to that SW should have made an improved SIGMA, since they are in business for a long time and should know by now what works and what does not- and stiff trigger does not!

if you shoot wheels guns at all you don't notice the trigger. but notice that is the only ocmplaint EVER about the sigma, take it tot he range. put some rounds through it and dry fire it. they trigger loosens up quite a bit. also it has a less snap to it compared to the taurus (weight maybe or grip position?) but again i have shot both quite a bit and still i carry my sigma 24/7/365

Is SIGMA losing on this poll because of its trigger or people think SW is not much better then Taurus, which would be a shock to me?

If this poll ends in Taurus win over SW, it means SIGMA should never have been made.

sorry but this makes no sense.

"If this poll ends in Taurus win over SW, it means SIGMA should never have been made."

then why even ask this question or open this poll. if YOU think the taurus is better then just get the taurus. i dont see the reasoning behind this poll then but to talk crap about a great pistol. ive never had any problems and i rather deal with S&W customer service any day over taurus's. and taurus has not had the greatest of names until recent years when they finally stopped copying everyone and trying to make something orignal which took some time.

the sigma trigger takes getting used to but the people that only grew up with auto's wouldn't be used to the trigger nor like it. people like me, who love wheel guns or have shot wheel guns don't have a problem. it was degisned a certain way, i for one have no problem with the trigger its a great saftey if you ask me because you have a longer pull which gives you that time if needed to back off the trigger if the asailant backs away. if not, let em have it.

if they put a external saftey on it then yes you can have a sa/da trigger, but if not your not gonna get the light crisp trigger of lets say, a 1911 or something to that effect.

Well where I am or my friend who is actually comparing the two for his next purchase, is not concerned with the sutomer service. This is because he is not in the US.

On one hand he like SW. For its long standing reputation and durability, yet he is comparing it with rather a newer manufacturer who is offering more in less price in terms of safety and soft enough trigger that does not distrub his shots.

SIGMA costs about 1500 $ here and Taurus about 1000$....so for him its sort of a big decision.

Does it help to change that to Euros first? :uhoh:
If a Sigma cost that much here, there'd be rioting in the streets.

Taurus any day of the week, and twice on sundays.

Trigger sucks, but not as bad as a Sigma. At least it's not 12lbs.

I can punch out the bullseye at 10 yards with my 24/7 9mm just as well as I can with my P226 .40 S&W.

The 24/7 has never so much as hiccupped, let alone jammed. I've shot it A LOT.

I'd bet real money that it would last through any 3 day 1000 round handgun class taught by any major instructor.

I can't see paying more than $1000US for either of those guns. Not unless there was absolutely no other way for me to get any gun at all. At that point I'd buy the cheaper gun and spend the rest on ammo.

In the US I'd buy the S&W. I have a Sigma and it's been great; never a hiccup, great feel in the hand, and quite accurate. Easy to shoot as well though the trigger is stiffer than you might wish.

Then again in the US you can buy five or six Sigmas for $1500.

I had a sigma it was the first pistol i bought on my 21 bday, i traded it off a month or so later, thing has like a 40lb trigger, really SUCKED:banghead: $1500 No way, buy a xd 40, a glock 27, and a cauple thousand rounds of ammo instead of spending that much on a sigma

 Hardly necessary to lapse into melodramatics here. It's got a tough trigger, but I've often said if you want to appreciate it better, fire one of the AMT .45 Backups or the CZ100. Sigma triggers are light and short by comparison.

If those guns are that expensive, I'd be afraid to see what their prices are on XDs, Glocks, Sig, and H&Ks. 1k of ammunition will likely be proportionately expensive, so you're probably talking $300-400 per case of 9mm.:what:

I fought this decision personally this weekend at a local gun show. I liked the heft and feel of the 24/7 and liked the $50 rebate and extra magazines with the Sigma. They were within $10 pricewise before rebate. I brought home the 24/7 due to the extra magazine capacity and I liked the safety on it. Haven't gotten to the range yet so I guess I'll find out for sure if my choice was a good one today.

Taurus no doubt

If you were talking about an M&P vs the Taurus, I'd have to say that go with the M&P. But as we are talking about the Sigma, I'd say go Taurus all the way. The sigma is not garbage but it it not a refined item as is the Taurus.

I was visiting a friend today and he told me that SIGMA was designed for Afghan police. Therefore its compromised on quality and limited to few thousand rounds in life...any truth to this story?
