I picked up a SW99 in 40 S&W yesterday. So far I really like this pistol. Fits my small hands great. The gun doesn't look like it was shot much at all. I got it for $320 OTD with three 12 round mags and night sights.

I'm kicking around the idea of picking one of these up in 9mm or .40S&W. How does it shoot? I had heard the trigger is a little funny with some build up in DA mode, have you noticed that? How does it shoot relative to a Glock?

How many do they have now?

Congrats on the gun, they look great, I really like the lines of it.

I haven't shot it yet. I was gonna take it to the range today but it was -15 degrees. I've been dry firing it with snap caps. The DA trigger on mine is pretty good, kinda like a DA revolver. The wide smooth trigger helps with control.

I'm not sure how many they have left now.

Searcher, have you shot the SW99 yet? I'm purchasing a SW99 in 9mm and hope it will be here next week. Have you tried any aftermarket mags from National Mag or Promag? I picked up another factory mag and would to get another, but they are a little expensive.

I like the way the trigger is. DA for first shot, or an 1/8 movement of the slide halves the LOP. Of course every shot after the first is SA. Also on the DA pull, at about half way their is a MINOR click reminding you, your pulling the trigger. If you stop their, it is half cocked, and ready to complete the pull from their.

It also has a decocking lever. It seems it is close to that of any pistol with a hammer, only this one is internal.

Wish I still had mine. When I bought it, all the internet boys owned the Walther version (P99) and crapped all over the idea of the SW99 without ever firing one, so it was never popular.

Sounds like these are police trade-ins.

Mine had the best ergonomics and best SA trigger of any polymer gun I've dealt with, and the accuracy was alright.
