Swaging your own bulets

Anyone ever think about swaging their own bullets? I am looking into it, specifically a company called Corbin. They have a rebated boat tail bullet that they rave about. The largest problem that I am having is the lack of information on their website. I would like to see the steps involved in making a bullet as there are 7 dies that you need to buy.

I'm thinking about doing the same. From what I've heard, it's a time consuming process.

You may want to take a look at Richard Corbin's website. He's the other brother and does things a little differently and sometimes cheaper. Here's his website: http://www.rceco.com/

I've swaged pistol bullets, but not rifle bullets. It's a slow, tedious process, and more expensive than buying bulk bullets. Unless you want something that isn't commercially available, it's really not worth it. Besides costing an arm and a leg, and possibly a few other critical body parts to get started, the raw materials cost as much as finished bullets, only without the equipment costs and labor.....

what bullet diameter are you considering?
cup jackets or tubing?
plinking/ hunting/ precision short range or precision long range?
all of these factors have a bearing on the equipment needed and is directly jermane to the cost..

Wow! Thanks for all the informative replies. I might not just get into swaging just yet and I guess that I also see why Corbin is a bit elusive on information. It does appear that there are a large number of operations to get what I want. I was looking to reload 7.62 (.308), Rebated boattail for precision shooting in my bolt gun. I might just stick with Sierra MatchKing 168 gr bullets.
