A co-worker has a Glock 31 in .357 sig and wants to trade me even on my Italian 92f with three hi-cap mags, what would be your call and why?

I wouldn't. Berettas are too nice of a gun. Right now you have a gun that has:

1- fairly inexpensive standard cap mags
2- cheap ammo
3- pleasant to shoot
4- fun to shoot

In exchange you would get:

1- faily expensive (about $100 last I checked) high caps (if you use G22 mags)
2- moderately expensive ammo, but more expensive than .40, .45 or 9mm
3- not a nightmare to shoot but not fun either
4- Possibility of barrel exchange and caliber conversion to .40 (~$100 for factory barrel)

If you must have a Glock, then by all means, get one. But don't give up your Beretta, especially an Italian-made one.

What's wrong with your beretta?
There would have to be something wrong with it for me to consider doing that...

From where I'm sitting, you're trading alloy for plastic and staying with the same caliber at a bit higher velocity at the trade of being much more expensive to feed and lower round capacity.

I would trade my G17 for a G31 unless the deal was really super sweetened in my favor. And regardless of street prices, the Beretta is worth more than the Glock and you're giving him three full cap mags in exchange for, I assume since you didn't specify otherwise, two 10 rounders?

I don't think so! I'd say if you are really wanting to get rid of the Beretta and really wanting a Glock, he should give you $150 to even the trade.

For my first post in this forum, having come over from TFL, I gotta say "Don't do it, man!"

I sold a 92FS Inox with two 15-rd factory mags. One of only maybe two guns I wish I could have back, that I really, really regret selling.

If you just gotta have a Glock, save up and buy used; don't trade the Beretta for it unless you just don't like the Beretta. And you should get some $$ on top of the trade, too.

Thanks

The beretta stays at home, I own a few other guns so the trade was just a thing I was thinking through. I currently have a p-226 3 glock 17's, a g-19 and the beretta along with a smith 6904, I also have the g-32 and g21 along with g-27 and 2 g-22's. I had considered going to a one gun system and was thinking of going with all glock's. but that would mean selling 3 colt 45's and two s&w wheeluns, .44 and.357 along with the others mentioned, so I'll hang on to the beretta for a while longer thanks to all.
