I was born in the mid Fifties.
I had the Case Peanut knife with chrome vanadium first, Grandma saw to that I had one.
Grandma also gave me Old Timer Peanut, "Case is special, so we will set it back and use the Old Timer more - understand?"
I am three years old - all I knew Case was special, and I had two knives. Grandma never steered me wrong - and the other Mentors & Elders seems to be saying the same thing.
Case Camp knife was my first knife with a main blade of that chrome vanadium steel, bottle opener, can opener, awl...and it was "my very own". Rite of passage.
I would be much older, in fact out of High School best recall before I owned a SAK.
The times and how raised, the first SAK given to me a gift was...well, it was less money ,and if I lost it, it was not the same as losing some of the nicer Case, Camillus, Shrade-Walden, Hen & Rooster, Boker...
SAK classic, having had a mustache for near 31 years, always found the little scissors handy. Thinking back I wished I had lost one of them Classics the times I lost my one of my knives with a pen blade and scissors made of 18 karat yellow gold, or one with ivory scales, or that one with olive wood , or that one with bone or ...
Do you prefer the Camp Knives or SAK with a main blade, can opener, bottle opener, awl...?
